Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos de Macau (TCM) was founded in 1974, formerly known as "Companhia de Transportes de Passageiros entre Macau e Ilhas ", is one of the two companies approved by the MSAR government to provide public bus service. It currently operates 54 routes, representing 66% of the total public bus routes in Macau. Based on the concept of "building a green, low-carbon environment" proposed by the MSAR government, the company actively took on its social responsibilities. In 2012, it took the lead in the bring in of the first vehicular natural gas bus, in 2013, it  introduced the first fully electrically driven bus to Macao, providing a strong practical basis for the future implementation of the electric bus operation in Macau. In 2018, Macau Nova Era de Autocarros Públicos , SA. was incorporated into TCM, and the latter became the largest bus company in Macau.
